What's on at the
2010 Gourmet in the Glen
Food and Wine Festival
Sunday 17th October 2010
King Edward Park - opposite the New England Club in West Avenue, Glen Innes
The program for 2010...
The historic Glen Innes New England Club provides the ideal setting to enjoy a selection of fine food and wine, while being entertained with easy-listening music performed live by talented local musicians. Wander around the wide variety of exhibitors' stalls and sample the culinary delights of our regional producers. You can purchase products from many of the stalls to take home. Or you can try a taste plate while you sip on a glass of local wine. A wine bar will be set up in the park as well as another in the grounds of the New England Club. A shade area will also be available for you to sit and enjoy your wine and food while listening to local musicians or watch local Stock and Station Agents fight it out to see who can produce the most delicious steak meal. There will also be the opportunity to purchase your favourite bottles of award winning wine and local food products, including local beef, berries, olives, honey, trout and preserves.
Stock & Station Agents Cook-Off
Featuring Eaglehawk Farms Angus Beef (Rematch)
This year we are honoured to have celebrity chef Paul Mercurio to judge the Cook Off. Paul is a TV chef who loves rural Australia and will be using local produce in his cooking demonstrations.
They went head-to-head in 2009, now let's see who has been working on their culinary skills throughout the year.
Testing their true beef knowledge at Gourmet in the Glen again this year will be the fast-talking stock agents of Glen Innes. The New England is renowned for producing premium beef cattle, but just how good are the people entrusted to market our beef from the paddock at presenting it on a plate. Representatives from all four stock agencies will put their culinary skills to the test in a cook-off using the newly launched and locally produced Eaglehawk Farms Angus Beef and other selected ingredients from Gourmet in the Glen stall holders.
Don’t miss what is sure to be a comedic and competitive spectacle at Gourmet in the Glen 11am to 2pm Sunday 17th October 2010.
Kids Area
Will again be hosted by the Glen Innes Evening View Club with Face Painting, Games & a Tea Party.
