About Gourmet in the Glen

Gourmet in the Glen in 2008 is being hosted by the Glen Innes New England Club to bring you one of the best regional Food and Wine festivals of the year.

Gourmet in the Glen has been held for the past 3 years at the Glen Innes Showground, bringing the finest local food and wine to the public. This year it is being held in King Edward Park, opposite the New England Club in West Avenue, Glen Innes and there is something to suit everyone’s taste at this annual event. You may wander around the wide variety of exhibitor’s stalls and sample the many culinary delights of our regional food producers. You can also purchase products to take home and try, having been inspired by the demonstrations provided by our talented chefs. There will also be the opportunity to purchase your favourite bottle of award-winning wines.

Relax in the grounds of the New England Club and listen to some very talented musicians while sipping on a wine or coffee. Or take the children to the “Kid’s tent” for some cooking and great activities. You will also be entertained by our local chefs giving some of their secrets away in their cooking demonstration. Around 10 o’clock local chefs will demonstrate their best recipes.

Glen Innes is known as the “Celtic Capital” of Australia and hosts the annual Australian Celtic Festival. Many other festivals are held during the year, including the Land of the Beardies Festival, Minerama Gem Festival, Glen Innes Pastoral & Agricultural Show and the ABCRA Rodeo.
